Day and Night Post Wire – Dr. Don Pickney, M.Div. / Th.D.

“How should Christians in America interpret this scripture with respect to criticisms of our national leaders?

1 Timothy 2:1-2 KJV. “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

It is important that the Bible admonitions of prayer never be used to impede our responsibilities as citizens to passionately engage our national leaders, who are not “rulers,” but paid servants of the people.

The United States is an experiment in authority. Unlike ancient cultures, (i.e. King George at the inception of our nation), the kings, emperors, etc. in Bible times were “rulers of the people.” God allowed the U.S. to the very first experiment in republican democracy.

What’s different? The top authority is “We The People.” Totally upside down from ancient “kingdoms,” the U.S. is not a kingdom.  Rule is entirely “government of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

Presidents are Executive Administrators of national issues… Not hired to direct issues, change cultures, but rather to be a “servant of “we the people.”

Congressmen are representatives “of the people,” one house (Representatives) create the laws desired “by their constituents,” while the other congressional house (Senate) makes certain of the correct letter of the laws.

“We the people” ARE THE GOVERNMENT!  God ordained “we the people” to be a revolutionary form of “rule,” with the freedom to engage our “leadership,” to critique, make our arguments of their leadership known, to impeach when appropriate, and remove them from office when we determine their unfitness to serve us.”

You won’t see this reported on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC or any other main stream media.

I Will Pour My Spirit Out On All Flesh

Posted by: | Comments (0)

We do a lot of posting about the current events of global shaking: nations, systems, financial, political, etc. as foretold in Scripture about the last days; the growing darkness, increasing wickedness, wealth power and pride of the world.   But, the scripture references great anointing and blessing, and divine power shall increase on the family of God simultaneously with darkness increasing in the world.

As the shaking, turmoil and confusion seems so predominate, at times, it’s easy to overlook the unreported news of anointing.  In today’s video, you’ll witness an example of God’s favor exercised by faith and words: the Biblical principles of power in the spoken word is eloquently manifested in this incident caught of surveillance video.

I believe the day is fast approaching when this example of anointing will grow to be the news predominate.  In this surveillance video a Believer – store owner – invokes the power of the Holy Spirit with words.  See how it renders a would be robber harmless.

No weapons formed against us shall prosper and in the name of Jesus every knee shall bow! (Isaiah 54:17, Philippians 2:10)

The Yule Log Is Still Burning

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Hey, it’s kind of slow around the offices of The Day and Night Post this week, as it’s the time of the season when we don’t work much!  In fact today, I’m the only one at the office.  You could say, “Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.”  Oh, I guess that’s suppose to be for “the night before Christmas?”

Well, we like Christmas to linger around here so . . . it’s still quiet.  I like to reflect the goodness of our Christian heritage: thank the Lord for His gift through His son Jesus Christ; and keep the celebration meditation going for a while!

But, I did stop by the publisher’s desk today to check out the email box and . . . WOW, the world doesn’t waste any time trying to get back into the groove flooding the email box with AFTER Christmas sales and prior to Year End discounts – maybe to make up for what they couldn’t get out of me earlier?   I don’t know?

But, I do know that it never seems to quit.  For those who worship the dollar – or whatever denomination is your country’s host – it’s got to be an unfufilling prophecy: never to be satisfied.  I remember someone asked John D. Rockefeller how much was enough when they asked, “Mr. Rockefeller, how many dollars do you need?”  He replied, “Just one more!”

Yes, everyone needs to make a living and the cost of living is increasing year by year, month by month and even day by day as the world’s fiat currencies are depreciating in value – it seems – by the minute!  But, the word of the Lord reminds us that our Heavenly Father knows we have need of “all these things” that the world seeks.  But, He has a different set of rules for His family: seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness . . . and “all these things” shall be added unto you!

So, just sitting here reflecting on the year 2012; and projecting on 2013 we want to be able to encourage one another to focus on the Kingdom of God.  So, before the New Year officially begins, let’s make a new committment to seek first the Kingdom of God; and “agree” that He will add all these needs unto us!

So, we’re planning of bringing news to you in the coming year to profile who, what, where!  In other words, introduce some of our readers who are seeking the Kingdom of God first . . . and what is happening with their needs.  Are they being met?  Are they blessed abundantly?

It will be an exciting time to explore the word of God for personal discoveries and prove His promises.  I’m excited about it and hope that you are too!

So again, this week will probably be a little relaxed with news – unless the Mayan Calendar was off a few days – Ha! Ha! So, let us rejoice in the glory of the Lord arising and shining on His family in 2013 as we continue to watch the globe sparkle and shine as the sheen of a rushing stream. If we are living in the days prophesied of the Prophet Isaiah, we will se it come to pass. Thanks for following along!

I am delighted today to shed the light of Christ on the ministry of Kamili Kijana in Kenya, Africa.

One of the great blessings of The Day and Night Post is reporting and communicating with God’s family around the globe.  Many are individuals and some are ministries doing the work of the Gospel in near and far away lands.

The great contrasts of light and darkness – goodness and evil, prosperity and poverty, health and sickness – are growing throughout the globe.  A new era of religious freedoms and religious persecution is emerging.  And many of the brethren, their families and church families are facing great challenges.  Yet they carry the message of Christ without wavering.

Over the past several months I have had the pleasure of communicating with Pastor Kijana in Kenya, Africa through The Day and Night Post and Facebook Instant Messenger.  Isn’t technology wonderful?

While I begin my day in America, Pastor Kajana’s day is drawing to a close in Kenya. It seems common to for me to be logging on to my office computer as he is preparing to log off for the day in Kenya. Accordingly, we often find ourselves online together to share the blessings of the day, the duties of his ministry and rejoicing in God’s goodness.

Several days ago as I began my morning routines, neither his email or instant message was there.  In fact several days continued without a word from Pastor Kijana.  I left a few messages for him with no response. My thoughts went back to his first letter to me . . .  Read More→

What’s All The Noise?

Posted by: | Comments (0)

As we’ve indicated time and again, we subscribe to countless news feeds of global trends and events.  And there is a struggle to find positive news. A recent subscription newsletter included a video titled, “How to Survive AND Thrive The Age of Turmoil,” that summarized its perspective.  It was an excellent 3:45 minute production that voiced a familiar global concern in its own specific presentation.

Let me see if I can’t highlight some of the video and narrative remarks.  The video begins with still photos of rioting, police barricades, demonstrations and uprisings not only in faraway lands but in America as well.  The first voice was that of President Barack Obama saying, “If nothing is done, this recession could linger for years!”

The video continues with sirens blaring and additional photos of families sitting around the table with bills piled high, default notices and screen shots of job searches.  And the narrative continues, “Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past couple of years, you’ve probably noticed that something is not quite right with the world. It’s not just the economic crisis in the United State and Europe. It’s something much bigger.  We have entered into something that I call, “The Age of Turmoil.” It’s been going on for quite a while and it’s starting to accelerate.  It is something that is basically, a complete system reset in the way things are done in the world.  And the bad news is it’s not going to end anytime soon.  But the good news is, there is something you and your loved ones can do to both survive and thrive in this age of turmoil.”  He’s getting ready here to either sell you something; or convince you to subscribe to his answer to the unprecedented global changes.  I’m not going to tell you who the narrator is for specific reasons.

But the video continues with a further introduction. The presenter identifyies himself as someone who, in the past several years has combined his training as a military intelligence officer along with his deep interest in finance and geo-political issues.  He travels the world extensively, sometimes up to 50 countries a year, visiting with key political and business figures and leaders as well as folks on the street to get an accurate perspective of what is really going on.  We’ll stop there with the video story and description of the message.

The point we’re making here is, this message, this script, this video theme is becoming more prevalent, more often and from more sources as days continue.  Like the man said, “Unless you’ve been living under a rock over the past couple of years, everyone recognizes profound global changes the likes of which have never been witnessed before.” Hint – that should give some clue!

What could possibly be happening that has never been witnessed in history before?  What could be occurring that is unprecedented and has the entire world confused?  What is shaking the world and confounding the heads of state, the financial pundits, the systems of the world and even religious order?  What is accelerating the same questions without answers from more leaders without solutions and more campaign without change?

This seems to be the opportune time to promote answers for profit.  If indeed, the events are unique, the changes are unique, the financial landscape is unique and the geo-political systems are unique, it would seem an opportune time for those selling “in the know” to profit handsomely?  If everyone is asking questions and I have an answer; that would seem to spell a recipe for riches!  And if the paradigms are so profound, it shouldn’t be that difficult to make profound profits by anyone poised to capitalize on it.

But, what if their prognosis is dwarfed by something even greater?  What if the unprecedented paradigms are more than historic?  What if they are eternal?  No one, it seems, is considering the possibility of epic eternal events. No one is advertising the return of Jesus Christ.  How do you profit from that?  Do you suppose?

It’s interesting, aside from all the noise of advisors and gurus, there is a quiet swelling of God’s spirit circling the globe.  There is, it seems, a manifestation of what the Prophet Isaiah foretold: God’s people would “Arise and Shine” in the last days. They aren’t selling any books.  They aren’t recommending any investments.  They aren’t profiting from any curriculum. They are not the invited guests on prime time talk shows or news channels. They are not engaged in international influence.  They are not speaking to the renowned leaders of business, banking, politics and government. They are not publishing must have newsletters. And, they are not worried about the unprecedented changes. If you knew them, they are from every tribe and every tongue and every nation. They are living quiet and peaceful lives, simply enjoying peace and favour in a world of uncertainty.
