Everyday Corruption

By

Soon the light will come!  The glory of the LORD shall rise upon His family: ” … the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” – Isaiah 60. Many such biblical references proclaim a coming day of the Lord: Isaiah 60 & 61; Zechariah 2; Haggai 2; Acts 2:17; James Chapter 5, etc., etc. BUT . . .

But first, darkness shall be increased: Isaiah 2; Isaiah 60; Zechariah 2, James 5; and Matthew 24 to mention a few. Usually we specifically identify the chapter and verse.  But I chosen to make general chapter references today . . . that you may conduct your own research.  Why?

Because,10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” – Matthew 24:10-12 KJV.

Commentaries add the following: 1) “. . . and because lawlessness will increase, the love of many people will grow cold.”  2) “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, Thus, people’s hearts will grow cold because criminals will be getting away with crime.” 3) “Society and people in general will love darkness rather than light.”

Are these Bible verses simply overlooked today in general as societies look for other reasons to explain . . . “the news?”   Is it coincidence that today’s leaders and public officials and public servants rant the need for more of your money and resources to resolve the error of their ways?  And, is it more so discounted in the private sector because the culture as a whole has waxed cold?  Have the people’s hearts grown cold because criminals are getting away with crime?
