Is It Economic Alert Or Biblical Hyperbole?

Does the Bible have secret economic alerts for today’s investment strategies, or it is simply biblical hyperbole?

Most economic crisis and investment briefings today come with a current monetary investment agenda. A council of forecast is usually complimented with urgency and motivation: move the little remaining investment funds you may have into the direction of wisdom and research by the advisory team or trend notoriety presenting the advice. But, what if the best advice is not current but prophetic?

Today’s standard financial advice clips generally find strategic bullet points on what to do next.  All the major brokerage houses, online trading platforms and investment advisory newsletter and telecasts have their own acclaim. And, millions in the market are being reached by quick news briefs, investment subscriptions, internet webinars and forums to wit:

  • High energy investments with high upside in years to come
  • Three ways to invest in gold with protection and profits
  • How to profit from a collapse in confidence of Washington’s ability to pay its debt
  • Your first-step “global solution” to padding your portfolio against the debt crisis
  • A simple way to block Bernanke’s printing presses from stealing your savings
  • Your single-most important investment in navigating the crisis
  • On and on and on . . .

But the investment advice, at best, is limited.  It is based solely upon a frame of reference from performance strategies, past economic history and known economic cycles.  The fallacy is no reference can be made based on prophetic economic forecasts.  What?  You can just hear the noted economic disciples at the world’s financial temples: “Prophetic economic forecasts?  You mean,  biblical economic trend analysis? Who turns to the Bible for advice on economic trend analysis,” would be the cry?  Very few I might assume!  But the referendum is growing; especially among elite Bible scholars.

Today’s global financial systems are shaking unprecedented in world history.  The only economic shaking in recorded history of like reference would have been the total shaking of the one nation world power: ancient Egypt.  Perhaps, Pharaoh issued an edict for the FED [PhED] – Pharaoh Reserve System – to print more money or lower interest rates to stimulate Egypt’s economy.  Or maybe raise Phederal Income Taxes on rich Egyptians because the slaves of Goshen were already making more bricks with less straw?

It is likely that Pharaoh’s economic advisor’s looked all the way back in world economic history – at the time – and concluded sound advice based upon their reference and trend analysis?  They may have conducted a Pharaoh Summit considering the best economic advice to counter the plagues?  Still, the ancient economy of Egypt collapsed!  The entire Egyptian empire collapsed . . . never again to regain its former economy or glory to this very day.  One could say, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had a major economic effect upon Egypt: a new precedent had been established; a new frame of economic reference in the earth is now recorded for all mankind to know and fear.

In fact the Lord sort of holds an economic panel summit or advisory forum [with himself] in Deuteronomy Chapter 4 and states, 32 For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it? 33 Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live? 34 Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? 35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God; there is none else beside him.”

But an economic phenomenon manifested for the Children of Israel: the family of God!  They received a different economic counsel than the advisors of Pharaoh. We could say The Jehovah Financial Group advised Moses, “21 Moreover, I will make the Egyptians so well-disposed toward this people that when you go, you won’t go empty-handed. 22 Rather, all the women will ask their neighbors and house guests for silver and gold jewelry and clothing, with which you will dress your own sons and daughters. In this way you will plunder the Egyptians.”

Pretty alarming financial advice, wouldn’t you say? No investment required, no need to move any Egyptian – or Goshen – currency into emerging stocks, Egyptian bonds, or precious metals!  No! It was simply given to them. They left Egypt with the all of the gold, silver, precious jewels and finest apparel of every single Egyptian household – willingly – without hesitation and with exception. Egypt was not prepared for “such great thing as this thing was!”  Neither was Pharaoh’s cabinet or economic advisors.

What, you might ask, does that have to do with what is happening today ?  That is a recorded history of the economic shaking of a one nation ancient empire. How can such obscure reference have anything to do with the global shaking of nation(s) today?

Haggai’s prophecy is written and biblical scholars agree; there will be another time – a greater event – a great wealth transfer, an economic phenomenon that will dwarf  what God did in ancient Egypt.  That event has never since occurred . . .

Announcing the Haggai Summit of Jehovah’s Economic Counsel: According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not. For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.” – Haggai 2:5-9.
