The Greatest Story
Christ Died to Call the Whole World to Glory!
YOU know what the story is! But suddenly you’re going to hear the rest of the story!
TRADITION teaches that the Greatest Story Ever Told was the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And, the significance of that sacrifice can never be diminished. The redemptive sacrifice of Christ “sealed” forever the reconciliation of God to man.
BUT God’s word teaches in Hebrews 12:2 that Jesus willingly endured the cross for the joy set before Him: “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at thee right hand of the throne of God.” Well, what was that joy set before him?
THEOLOGIANS agree, the joy of Christ is the redemption [harvest] of mankind and the restoration of the kingdom. Jesus confirmed, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it die, it brings forth much fruit.” And the Weymouth translation states, “In most solemn truth I tell you that unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains what it was–a single grain; but that if it dies, it yields a rich harvest.”
The cross-reference in Romans 14:9 says, “For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living;” henceforth, the greatest news [the Good News] of the Gospel.
THE ASSIGNMENT of the church has been to go into the world to do the work of the Gospel; to teach the Good News, receive the harvest and grow in glory: Proverbs 4:18, [KJV], “… the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” or [CBL], “… the path of the righteous is as the light of dawn, that shines progressively and generationally brighter and brighter to the full day [a noon-day sun].”
GOD’S HELP is through progressive revelation. Jehovah unfolds the mysteries of truth and knowledge little by little and generation by generation to guide, perfect and glorify His family until the fullness of time. It matters not what denomination [degree] of brightness you may shineth from; as long as your are in the light! Your particular “Christian” denomination may be a little ahead or a little behind in the revelation of brightness. Stop condemning the differences and keep maturing in brightness of His word.
IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME, Israel was delivered out of Egypt. At the fullness of time, Christ was born in the city of David. At the fullness of time, the church was born. Throughout history God has been leading, developing and maturing His family. For, in the fullness of time Christ will present the church to God the Father without spot or wrinkle. It is the path of God’s design to restore the Kingdom. Christ died to make all of this restoration possible! This is the GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD!
BUT THAT’S NOT THE END OF THE STORY . . .
